Forbidden Anchorage is a font inspired by the movements of container ships in SF Bay. Oil tankers carrying fuel or other explosives must park in a zone called the Forbidden Anchorage, where they negotiate marine territory based on the tides, wind, and length of their anchors.

The font was made by adding visible anchor points to the curves of an open source font called Free Sans. Included with the .otf file is a research specimen printed in violet, red, black, and purple ink. (8.5” x 11” on cardstock paper)
